CI Grand Slammers Board Application

Thank you for your interest in joining the CI Grand Slammers Youth Softball Association Board of Directors.    The CIGSYSA is continually looking for new people interested in shaping the future of Cambridge-Isanti Softball.
 

The board meets regularly once a month throughout the year.  Meetings usually last up to 2 hours and have a set agenda.  The night of the meeting is voted on each year by agreement from all board members for what works best.  Meetings have typically fallen on Sunday or Wednesday nights in the past.    Board members are required to attend at least 9 of the 12 monthly meetings to maintain board member status.
 

Board members are also requested to assist in additional association activities throughout the year, this includes, but is not limited to:

  • Tryouts for summer season
  • Fundraiser
  • Maddy Nelson Memorial Tournament
  • Tryouts for fall season
  • Equipment organization/field improvements
  • Open gyms 
     

The CIGSYSA consists of up to 12 active board members.    Majority of board members also have a role on the board.  Examples of roles and a brief description is listed below.

  • Director - Oversees the board.  Sets meeting agenda, runs the meeting
  • 2nd Director - Steps into Directors role if the director is not available.
  • Treasurer - Balances the account.  Reports standing to board.  Signor on account.  Handles all payments
  • Secretary - Takes meeting notes.  Distributes notes to all board members
  • Registration Coordinator - Organizes registration.  Updates registration information.  Creates needed documents.
  • In-House Director - Oversees In-House Rec program.  Organizes teams/coaches
  • Equipment Manager - Equipment inventory.  Ordering equipment with board approval.
  • Uniforms - Puts together team uniform order.  Contacts players for missing sizes/#'s.  Separates and distributes uniforms.
  • Fundraiser Director - Organizes fundraiser.  1st point of contact.
  • Advertising - Submits advertising.  Helps secure sponsors for program.
  • Field Scheduler/Umpire Coordinator:  Coordinates field schedule for all teams.  Works with umpire assignor to have umpires for all games.  Cancels/reschedules umpires.
  • Tournament Director:  1st point of contact for tournament.  Receives and confirms teams.  Organizes tournament information.
  • Webmaster - updates website with important information
  • Social Media - Updates social media sites with important information.  Keeps program relevant.
  • Coach Mentor - Provide information for coaches.  Coach check-in.
